Two Bulgarian companies honoured at European Business Awards27.11.2011

Krasen Kyurkchiev, executive director of Bulgarian home and personal care products maker Ficosota Syntez, was among the winners of the Ruban d`Honneur prize at the European Business Awards, while software firm Telerik scooped up the business of the year award for companies with turnover of up to 25 million euro.
Commenting on the award, Kyurkchiev said that Ficosota Syntez was set to become the biggest fast moving consumer goods company in eastern Europe. The company expects that its consolidated profit will make up 170 million leva in 2011, growing 20 per cent next year. Ficosota Syntez generates about half of its earnings abroad.
Telerik, an end-to-end provider of software application lifecycle and content management solutions, was also named best employer in Bulgaria by Hewitt Associates in 2010.
European Business Awards, sponsored by UK banking group HSBC, were launched in 2007 to honour innovative businesses in Europe. The companies are evaluated by 56 independent judges - important business and political figures who have insight into the business on the continent. As many as 15 000 companies took part in the event this year. The businesses employ a total 2.5 million and account for 8.3 per cent of Europe`s gross domestic product.
