IKEA starts recruiting staff for first Bulgarian store06.01.2011Swedish furniture maker IKEA has started recruitment several months before the launch of its flagship store in Bulgaria`s capital city, Dnevnik reported.
The company is mainly looking for middle managers, including cash line team leaders, warehouse and maintenance team managers, according to IKEA`s online advertisements published in local employment portals.
The retailer`s first outlet in Bulgaria, which will employ 350, will span 30,000 square metres and will have a 1,200-car parking lot.
The store is expected to open doors in the second half of 2011 and to welcome 1.6 million shoppers in the first year.
Greek Fourlis, the franchisee of the IKEA brand for Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria, said earlier it would invest EUR 50 million in the unit.
